About Us
The Dulcimer Music Group Slovácko junior was established in August 2000 in the town Mikulčice. The name "Slovácko junior" is not a coincidence. We would like to carry on with keeping and spreading the traditions, successfully started on the 1st March 1965 by the legendary Dulcimer Music Group "Slovácko", under the leadership of the first violinist Mr. Přemysl Líčeník.
The core of our repertoire comprises of the folk songs of our home region Podluží. We also like to play folk songs from other regions of Moravia, Bohemia, Slovakia and Hungary.
You may listen to our music as well as dance to it. Should you wish, we can also perform together with traditionally dressed dancing couples; put together a composed concert or organise a performance in conjunction with the legendary singer Jožka Šmukař. We can organize a music production at private or corporate events nationally as well as abroad.
Due to the very time demanding study obligations of the dulcimer-player Petr Spěvák, studying at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, and of the viola-player Jan Kosík, these positions are in our dulcimer music group doubled by Antonín Horehleď (the dulcimer-player of the VUS-Army Art Group Ondráš) and by the viola-player Robert Chocholoušek.
